Speech Bubbles Programme With London Bubble Theatre Company

We’ve been continuing with our popular After School Primary clubs and more than ever, we see that children not only participate because it’s fun, but also because some children aspire to beginning a career in the Arts. In these challenging times, where the Arts have been marginalised in Education curriculums, our work continues to be vital in giving children the chance to participate in drama and theatre activities.

On 26th March 2019, we will be co-presenting a workshop with London Bubble Theatre Company about their ‘Speech Bubbles’ programme. Speech Bubbles is a national primary school drama intervention, supporting children’s communication skills, confidence and wellbeing. Ultimately, the Speech Bubbles programme aims to transform children’s life chances. The programme has been running since 2009 in London and Greater Manchester and is delivered by experienced theatre partners. We are hoping to introduce the programme to educators in the North East on 26th March at the Annual SEND conference held at The Great North Museum.
Once again, our Artistic Director, Crystal Clark, an experienced drama teacher/practitioner through all the key stages of education, will be examining GCSE drama papers in the summer. It is encouraging to see that young people still opt to take this subject at GCSE and beyond!
